Songs Of The Week - Les Breastfeeders and Arizona

I've never been a lyrics person. It's not that I don't dig on the art of the poet or anything like that, but mixing the hubris of a poet with rock music can yield some pretty dodgey results (Jim Morrison? any one? any one?) Perhaps that's why the new record from Quebec's LES BREASTFEEDERS hits me just right...i don't speak French (or as Toby Keith calls it, "Freedom")
The lead song from their new album, Les Matins De Grands Soirs (out now on Blow The Fuse) says it all. It's a non stop rocker that leaves you breathless and hungry for some poutine

It's rare that a great album can be crafted on a dare. Somehow, Brooklyn's Arizona managed to pull it off. The band, working mainly off word of mouth, have made quite a name for themselves over the last year. The self-released "Welcome Back Dear Children" is available now via the bands website and you can catch them on tour next month with The Slip and Band of Horses.
